Association Business Executives (ABE) - Business Information Systems Programme

This course focuses on making students into highly computer-literate business professionals who are able to solve problems using various applications and manage technology teams in large-scale projects

Entry Requirements:

  • Certificate:
    • At least 16 years old
  • Diploma:
    • At least 18 years old with 5 O' Levels and 2 A' Levels or
    • Completion of 3 subjects in ABE Certificate Level or
    • Persons over 21 with 2 or more years relevant working experience

Four Compulsory Papers

  • Introduction to Accounting
  • Introduction to Business
  • Introduction to the world of Computers
  • I.T Applications and Skills

Diploma - Part 1

Three Compulsory Papers

  • Computer Fundamentals
  • Computer Applications in Business and Finance
  • Business Communication

Students must also pass one of the following subjects

  • Organizational Behaviour (Management Pathway)
  • Accounting (Finance Pathway)

Diploma - Part 2

Four Compulsory Papers

  • Principles of Programming
  • Networks and Distributed Systems
  • Quantitative Methods
  • Systems Analysis

Students must also pass one of the following subjects.

  • Human Resource Management (Management Pathway)
  • Managerial Accounting (Finance Pathway)

Advanced Diploma

Four Compulsory Papers

  • Contemporary Application Development Methods
  • Managing Systems Change
  • Relational Database Applications in Business
  • Internet Systems Development

Students must also pass one of the following subjects

  • Strategic Human Resource Management (Management Pathway)
  • Corporate Finance (Finance Pathway)

Graduates of the Advanced Diploma are allowed direct access to the final year of the B.Sc (Hons) Computing from the University of Greenwich.
