PRACTITIONERS DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
 

Before launching the HRM Practitioners Diploma, ABE consulted with the HRM specialists and the university lecturers to produce a qualification that meets the needs of employers and can also offer progression to higher education.

Programme Objectives:

  • Give those who complete the qualification competence in the theory, procedures and practice of Personnel Administration and Human Resource Management
  • Qualify them to work in a Personnel or HRM Department
  • Enable them to proceed further with their studies and enhance their career prospects

Target Market:

  • Employees working within the HRM function but wishing to improve their skills and knowledge
  • Managers who wish to become even more effective practitioners in human resource management and development within their departments
  • People drawn from other parts of the working environment who aspire to enter the HRM function

Programme Content:

The programme consists of a Certificate and a Diploma, each comprising four subjects. Students will not be awarded the Diploma until they have passed all eight subjects.

  • PRACTITIONERS CERTIFICATE IN HRM
    • Introduction to Business (common subject with ABE Business Administration
      programme)
    • Introduction to Business Communications (common subject with Business
      Administration)
    • Managing People
    • Personnel Administration

 

  • PRACTITIONERS DIPLOMA IN HRM
    • Business Communication (common subject with business Administration)

    • Organisational Behaviour (common subject with Business Administration)

    • Human Asset Management 

    • Human Resource Development

Entry Requirements :

No formal educational qualifications are required but entrants should have the necessary competence in English, and must be at least 20 years of age.

Recommended Study Hours

  • 80 study hours per subject at Practitioners Certificate level

  • 120 study hours per subject at Practitioners Diploma level

These recommendations are for guidance to colleges.

Credit Transfers :

Although it is a stand alone qualification, the HRM Practitioners Diploma contains subjects which are also common to the Business Administration programme and holders of the HRM Practitioners Diploma will be able to use their passes in the common subjects to transfer to the business Administration or other ABE programmes and so complete another qualification. Conversely, holders of the Business Administration Diploma will be able to use their common passes to complete the HRM Practitioners Diploma.
