MSc Industrial Relations and Human Resources
 

 

The MSc in Industrial Relations and Human Resources combines an employment relations focus with a management perspective. The course is designed to meet the learning and professional development needs of practitioners, managers and policy makers who are involved in employee relations either from the perspective of the individual or organisation.

Entry Requirements :

  • A first or second class honours degree (qualifications must be equivalent to a British first or second class degree)
  • Successful completion to a specified standard of the University of Leicester Diploma in Training & Development/Diploma in HRM
  • An acceptable professional qualification, with suitable practical experience.

Programme Content :

  • Module 1: Managing Human Resources
  • Module 2: The Global Context of HRD & HRM
  • Module 3: Industrial Relations
  • Module 4: Research Methods
  • Optional Modules:
  • Dissertation (16,000 - 20,000 words). On completion you will be able to:
    • Formulate a research problem and design a research study
    • Identify and use appropriate research methods
    • Report research results and present conclusions

Programme Structure :

The Masters programme is studied completely by Distance Learning (minimum 24 months – maximum 48 months). There are four core modules. Once these are finished you will complete the final part of your Masters by proceeding to the Dissertation.
