Work related injuries and ill-health give rise to tremendous losses. Current losses in both human and financial terms are quite high. Improvement, particularly in preventing failures in the management of health and safety, can only be achieved where there are continuous and concerted efforts by the relevant parties to raise the profile of health and safety and to promote a positive safety culture within organisations.
