For students needing accommodation SBCS provides a list of places for rent in the area. Please note SBCS is not affiliated with any of the properties or the owners and merely provides contact information. SBCS does not in so doing make any representation as to the quality and value of said places.
Parking Notice
Over the years, SBCS has worked very hard to ensure that our neighbours around SBCS (streets) and motorists are not inconvenienced by indiscriminate parking by our student population. This is a perpetual exercise, as with each new intake of students the problem resurfaces and despite our efforts and that of our security personnel; there are the handful of inconsiderate individuals who choose to double-park on obviously narrow streets and to obstruct residents' driveways and street corners so as to impede the flow of traffic. Please be mindful that we are located in a residential neighbourhood and that loud music is also a source of discontentment among residents and therefore we kindly ask that you respect the right of occupants to the quiet enjoyment of their homes.
Please study the parking map which is accessible below this notice; park only in the approved areas and comply with the directions given by our security officers. Security monitors activity on Court and North Drives and along Sagan Drive to the corner of Sunset Drive. Please note that there is no security monitoring beyond that western point on Sagan drive or along Sunset and West Drives. Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays, an officer is posted at the corner of Mendez and Sagan Drives to facilitate parking along the southern side of East Drive and along Mendez Drive.
On Saturdays, secured parking is provided at EWMSC from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. SBCS provides a free shuttle service between the campus and EWMSC with two air-conditioned, security driven buses. Please use this service as the wait time is almost zero and there is absolutely no reason to park on the streets for that day. (Please call the Security Desk at 663-7227, Ext. 1210 if you experience any problem with accessing the shuttle service). During the day on Mondays to Fridays and Sundays, there is adequate space in our car parks; so again please avoid using the roadways when not necessary.
Remember, your convenience cannot be attained at the expense of our neighbours' enjoyment of their properties. Please do not double-park and kindly maintain legal distances from driveways and street corners. Together we can make this a win-win situation for all stakeholders. As persons who are pursuing higher education with a view to influencing policy and decision making in your workplace and the wider community; we are sure that you understand the need to exercise good judgment and act responsibly. In the past, irate neighbours have thrown paint and punctured tyres on offending vehicles, so please be guided accordingly.
