School of Business and Computer Science has been granted Advanced Teaching Status by the University of London with respect to the Diploma Computing and Information Systems program. This means, that with immediate effect, a prospective student no longer has to apply to the University of London to be granted acceptance in the program. This process will now be done by SBCS.
Students registering for the UOL's Diploma CIS (2006-2007 semester) are no longer required to pay application fees to the university nor fill out the UOL's application forms.
Registration procedures for these students are as follows:-
ROUTE 1 - Students satisfying the general entrance requirements (that is having the minimum entry requirements of 4 O'Levels, including Maths & English-Grades 1, 2 & 3 from June 1998, and being at least 17 years by 1 st September 2006)
HOW TO REGISTER
- Register with SBCS (Filling in SBCS Registration Form and making payment of $850.00.
- The student at the point of registering should provide the front office with copies and originals of their academic qualifications as well as photocopied evidence of their full name and date of birth. (These documents must be verified by CSR team leader/UOL Course Administrator).
- Upon Completion of Registration, the student must be given the UOL's registration form and fee slip, which will be returned to the Course Administrator at a later date.
- The completed SBCS registration form together with the copies of academic qualifications and photocopied evidence of their full name should be forwarded to the Course Administrator for despatch and filing purposes.
ROUTE 2- Students not fully satisfying the general entrance requirements (that is not having a pass in O'level Math or English). SBCS will issue both a Maths and English entrance exam to these individuals, which would be approved by the University of London, who upon passing these exams will be eligible to access the Diploma CIS program.
As a Diploma Approved Teaching Status College, we will now set, administer and mark examinations in English and Mathematics for students following this route.
These examinations will be approved by the University of London.
Students without passes in both areas will be required to sit both examinations. Students will in most instances be required to sit and pass the examination, only in the area that is not satisfied, (Mathematics or English).
Successful completion of the examination(s), will allow students to access the Diploma
The fee per exam, which is non-refundable, must be paid when registering is $250.00 per examination.
Exams will be held in Champs Fleurs and San Fernando.
Results will be made available in 1 week.

- Upon successful completion of entrance exam, the student can then proceed to register with SBCS following the procedures outline below:

The exam is scheduled to take place on 8th September 2006.
